This work sample is an MS PowerPoint presentation about the Inca civilization. This presentation will help students learn and understand how the Incas came about, how they revolved around adoring the sun, how the Spaniards conquered them and how some of their costumes still remain until this day. MS PowerPoint is a powerful tool that is used by most educators to teach a class. On this work sample, I tried to incorporate features on MS PowerPoint to make the lesson appealing to students. The presentation has illustrations of the Incas and their God, the Sun.
This work sample will help diverse students understand a different culture. It will also make them realize that the ancient people of the Americas were not savages, they actually had a civilization that grew up to be an empire.
Technology Work Sample #2
This work sample is an MS Excel spread sheet. This spread sheet is intended to calculate the budget of an average student. Diversity does not come only in color or race but is also comes in economic levels. By creating a monthly budget, students are going to learn how to manage their money. Again, not all students are on the same economic level, some have more and others have less. Although there are fields on the spread sheets for expenses, these expenses can vary according to the students’ economic level.
Technology is a powerful tool and on this example it will help any student, rich, middle class or poor, to manage their money. This can be apply in everyday life and students can enjoy and learn to calculate their income.
